Join us in Commemorating National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day
On Dec. 21, 2022, people from across the Greater Kansas City Area will gather at Ilus W. Davis Park from 5:30-7pm to commemorate National Homeless Persons’ Remembrance Day with Kansas City’s annual Homeless Persons Memorial.
What is National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day?
December 21 was chosen as National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day because it is the longest night of the year due to the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. At events across the United States, advocates, friends, citizens and family members remember those who have died and strengthen or begin their resolve to work for a world where no life is lived or lost in homelessness. Kansas City Homeless Persons Memorial
We look forward to gathering at our local National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day event, the Kansas City Homeless Persons Memorial, to bring together KC advocates, friends, citizens and family members. Each year, when we gather, we are reminded of our call to end homelessness in our community because no person should die for lack of housing.
Uplifting the Names of Those Homeless Persons’ We Have Lost
